First time in Toome, visited with my daughter on the road back from a wee city break. Impressed by the food - soup and wheaten and tea offer all for 5 was great value for money, soup was homemade and there were 3 choices we went for vegetable and bacon and lentil. We also enjoyed a freshly made chicken salad and coleslaw sandwich and an Americano coffee. Would recommend and will be back again too - I see that they are extending the coffee shop so look forward to seeing what the new extension looks like when I return

Lock Keepers Cottage is a lovely stop before or after the walk up to Lough Neagh viewing point. It has sitting indoor and outdoor and a wheelchair accessible bathroom. You can also use this cafe as an info stop on the surrounding area and get a full view of the entire Lough via a massive detailed map. Food on offer is typical of any cafe and is just as good as any others we've been to before. One thing to note to the little cake in jars you can purchase that come with an attached spoon, perfect picnic item.

Called here on a Sunday afternoon for a walk along the path and had coffee and tea at the lock keeper's cottage. Had a large range of scones, cakes and tray bakes to offer. Also had soup and sandwiches. The two ladies were very pleasant and friendly. It has also a toilet inside. You can sit inside or outside. We would definitely recommend calling in.
